Sophie Barton - Director At Large

Sophie is a PhD Candidate in the Hecht Lab at Harvard University. She studies brain evolution in New Guinea Singing Dogs, primitive dogs, working dogs, and other canids. Her work focuses on the interplay between nature and nurture in the canine brain. Outside of academia, Sophie is a martial artist, trail runner, snowboarder, fossil enthusiast, and lifelong dog nerd. She lives in Massachusetts with her rescue mutt Tamsin, who serves as inspiration for her research, and her husband Seumas, who puts up with her dog obsession. Sophie hopes to one day share her life with a NGSD.
