The New Guinea Singing Dog Conservation Society

Celebrating Our 20th Anniversary as a 501c3 Non-Profit

The New Guinea Singing Dog is a wild dog from the mountains of New Guinea. They have been displayed in zoos since 1956. In North America, many New Guinea Singing Dogs are now being kept as house pets. However, they are tamed wild animals, and sharing your home with one requires special considerations beyond those needed for domesticated dogs. This book describes Singer history, outlines their behavior, the type of security measures necessary to keep a Singer safely confined (also as excerpt on the NGSDCS web site under Resources), and specifies the care and attention they need to become successful as companion animals.
